Make every selection count: your top 10 paediatric sepsis research priorities
Every year, 3.4 million children die from sepsis, most of them under the age of five. In low and middle income countries, more than one in five children with sepsis will not survive. Despite this scale, paediatric-specific research into prevention, diagnosis and treatment remains severely limited.
The PASSPORT study is an international research priority-setting exercise designed to change that. Using a rigorous and well-established method, it brings together the views of families and healthcare professionals to agree on where research efforts should be focused.
Survey 2 is now open and takes around 5 minutes to complete. You'll be asked to review a shortlist of research questions and select the 10 you feel are most important across six areas, including diagnosis, treatment and long-term recovery.
We're asking members of our community to take part if you are a parent, carer or child affected by sepsis, or a healthcare professional with experience in paediatric sepsis care.
Please share the link with your networks too.
